If Obama succeeds in ramming through socialist healthcare, will he be able to trick the Stock Market into rising? Rush was really angry today and saying that we need to pray for Obama’s failure. If Obama rams this through and lies about small businesses saving money on healthcare, he may trick the stock market into skyrocketing on Monday. Is there any way we can stop that?

If the market artificially increases, it will deflate in time.

I was wondering if there is a legal age limit for Canadian citizens Investing in the Stock Market. I understand that American citizens under the age of 18 may have a legal guardian cosign the stock. Is it the same case for Canadians?

I know people who don’t work and only invest in the stock market. They make more than enough to pay their bills and stash a good amount away? How do you do that? How much do you need? How do people make money in the Stock Market in good and bad market (bull and bear)? I know stocks are cheap right now, but once stocks reach their highs again, how do people make money? Thanks in advance to all whom answer.

In order to make a living you Investing in the market, you have to start with a large amount of capital. How large will depend on what your needs are, and how much you need to live the style you want. Example: if you have 1,000,000 and make 10% a year, that’s 100k, but then you must subtract taxes, so you’ll have 60-70k to live on. However this doesn’t give you any margin for error in case of a bad year.

My 401K has dropped 17% in the past month. Is that better or worse than the Stock Market average?

Close to 25% this month

The stock market is supposed to be a reflection of the economy. But the US or the world economy grow at a much slower rate than that of the Stock Market. Will this trend continue forever, barring a few bear years?

The FED drives equities higher. It can’t fix structural problems.

I’m doing my junior project on how online stock exchange has affected the Stock Market. For one of my body paragraphs, I’m focusing specifically on day traders. I would assume they have a great impact on the stock market, but I need to know a lot more info. It’s a little hard to find. Even if you could just give me links, that would be great. I’ve gotta pound the rest of this paper out tonight…. Thanks in advance!

Simple answer is that day traders can’t move the market. This is for two main reasons; First, that they deal in such tiny amounts of money and, second that they are unlikely to trade with the momentum of the market as they cannot compete with the major banks and brokerages on news supply and access to market analysts and leaders.
