How can I find out what options are trading for in the Canadian Stock Market? Is there a website that provides this information free of charge? If not, what is a good website that does not charge much for this info?
The main place you want to go to is the Montreal exchange website. It is the market for all options so its like a primary source of data for you. If you’re trading options using a broker. The broker (assuming its a Canadian one like RBC direct Investing or TD waterhouse) should have more information. A final tip, the most traded options (and are traded) are the ones of well known companies. E.g RIM, Suncor, Encana (most companies from the S&P 60 index.

Some good options to trade are ones that follow and index like the following ..
DIA – follows the Dow Jones
SPY – follows the S&P
EEM – follows the emerging markets
IWM – follows the russell 2000, which is an index of 2000 different stocks
