do some good home work, analyze the market trends, invest in a diversified portfolio and buy low sell high are some of the good strategies to become a good trader.

if you follow these strategies…I dunno if you can be a millionaire but I can assure you that you will not loose your money

There is the option of opening an online trading account starting small, going to seminars, doing your own readings, and posting your questions on Yahoo for the next few years.
You could also try a simulated investing site, here you have no monetary risk and you can experiment with you investing strategies. There are a few out there, problem is they don’t give you much motivation to follow sound investing strategies or incentive to tend to your portfolio the way you would if your money was on the line.
There is one site out there that just started you can Yahoo it, Fantasy Stock Broker. If you are at all familiar with fantasy sports leagues they are using that same technique to provide a competitive forum to play against your friends in a weekly head to head league that teaches you all the fundamentals of investing. From P/E ratios to BID/ASK as well as graphs to track you team/portfolio. Because you are playing against your friends there is a reason to follow an investing strategy and to watch your portfolio so you can have bragging rights over your friends.

Best answer is to start as young as you can. The longer the money you put in is allowed to stay in the market the longer it will have to appreciate. You should be a millionaire by the time you retire if you start early enough.

Odds are strongly in your favor if you stick with an aggressive no load mutual fund. If you deposit money into the account as though you are (paying yourself first) you will not miss the money.
